Judy is an organic home-grown Portland girl. Through most of her life she’s endeavored to serve God and others as a teacher of dance. Along with her husband Ted, they have adopted and raised three children (now adults), Leah, Jon-Michael and Carolyn.
In 1998, Judy and Ted spent time as volunteer missionaries in Liberia, West Africa. While there, she started a free school for children who could not afford private school tuition (there are no public schools in Liberia). An outgrowth of that program continues today, where over 1,300 Liberian students will receive tuition to attend schools this year, through God’s Precious Children.
As an instructor, Judy began in her basement with Judy’s School of Dance, she continued as the artistic director at Finale’ Dance, then started Footwork Dance Studio (Milwaukie), and Dance Connection (Welches). Her students have gone on to work in Portland area theater productions, teach at other dance studios, along with the direction of choreography and dance numbers for several school plays in the Portland area.
Judy is delighted to impart her knowledge as a tap instructor with the SALT team and looks forward to encouraging the very best in her student’s talents.
